If you have any doubts about the validity of an online degree program you’re considering, finding its accreditation status isn’t difficult. If you can’t find it on the school’s own website, check out your state’s department of higher education. They’ll be able to tell you, either online or over the phone, the accreditation status of the program in question.

Accreditation is vital to ensuring the money and time you put into your education is a smart investment. Verifying accreditation before you enroll is an easy way to protect yourself from being scammed by a diploma mill and avoid putting your career in jeopardy.
